the sandals, the bolster and the gun

its saturday evening and we didnt want to rot at home so everyone got fed by 530pm and we left the house by 630pm
we all went to QB mall to walk around and kill time

borders, toys r us, jusco...

i got my new scholl sandals
thewife got her new bolster
and theson got a new huge water gun.

we all got something, well, except for thebaby.
but he was enjoying being pushed around in his baby stroller.

also we noticed that there wasn't much people around..
i doubt there will be a crowd after the CNY celebrations..

plethora of emotions

we actually knew abt the bad news last week but hearing it in person just blew us all away...in a very bad way, of course...

shock
bad taste in mouth
punched in the stomach
anger
sadness
grief
acceptance
change is constant
optimism
resolve to overcome

i will admit, i'm a cynical pessimist...
so sue me..

the 5th cyclon ...

IS indeed ellen tigh...

but what the hell is starbuck?
and why did dee bow her own brains out?
more questions..

its official

2 factories will be shutdown including the one I’m in.

They ”intend” to find everybody a job.

They have ZERO details.

They have 30 days to get back to us.

Sigh.

the 5th

Who is the final 5th cyclon in hiding?

Gaeta?

Old man adama?

Someone who got killed earlier? Cain? Ellen Tigh?

We’ll know soon enough

Sadly, there is only 10 more episodes left for BSG….

Well it was a good run..

But it will be sorely missed..

rosary

The rosary..

Its, one of the things every catholic should have.

I can’t really remember my 1st rosary but I know during my 1st holy communion, I already had a rosary and mass book as well.

We’ve been trying to pray more and saying the rosary at night.

Thewife actually went online to find out how to really “pray” the rosary.

She says those born Catholics just mumble the rosary like robots…

She actually “says” the rosary with meaning..

She says that i say it too fast as well..

So I hv to force myself to slow down..

Not easy after decades of brainwashing..

Anyway, funny story..

Theson was watching us pray and well, he cant say the rosary yet, so hes just watching and listening to us and ½ way while we were praying, he breaks out in “joy to the world” coz he says “it’s a church song, so its ok…” He just wanted to join in…

so far hes caught the “blessed is the fruit of your womb jesus” part.. he’s getting there..

sucks...

Mgmt sucks when they cant seem to make a decision and keep delaying.

Things are already moving and you want us to still wait?

Come on..!!!

Move it already….

food channel

I’m always watching the food channel and I’m always amused when I see this popping up

“Program contains strong language. Viewer discretion is advised”

On the food channel?

Really?

Really….!!

Who else but Gordon $#@%@ Ramsay.

not a resolution..

I will pick up the phone more to call and talk to people rather than engage in lengthy email exchanges...

pillars of the earth

I’m reading pillars of the earth by ken follett

It’s like a thousand pages long…

I wouldn’t say its a heavy read but its one of those long epics..

I like those..

You can really get immersed in them and just lose track of time reading page after page and suddenly realize it’s already 3am in the morning

And I always tend to slow down towards the end of the book.

You know why?

Simply because I don’t want the book to end..

The book is basically about a builder/mason who is building a church in the 1100’s. Sound boring right?

Surprisingly its very engrossing. I enjoy reading abt life in the medieval ages, when things were simpler but also more dangerous.

I doubt I could survive in those times..

I’ve read some reviews about this book, either you love it or you hate it..

Strange isn’t it…

lumix fx38

My current Nikon coolpix is already 5yrs+ old.. and pretty beat up..

And its extremely slow

So I bought a new panasonic lumix camera, fx38.

Silver in colour

Simple point and shoot..

Those SLR’s are not for me

10megapixel, 2gig card and HD video.

And can do burst shot of more than pix per second.

Much needed feature when taking photos of thebaby

A lot of other cool features that I’m still exploring.

Everything for $1100

Quite a good deal.

Thewife hated the free camera carrying bag though.

I’m still messing around with it.

Pretty cool.

its the most wonderful time of the year...

Christmas and the new year have come and gone and here we still are..

Still tired and still in need of sleep..

So what else is new, right?

We had 11 days of vacation but 6days was spent at the hospital..

At the rate we’re going we should be entitled for a platinum card if the hospital ever has one.. really..

And I’m done away with resolutions..

No more new year resolutions..

really, they’re just a pain in the @$$

don’t you think so..?

kicking and screaming

Some things never change…

Everytime after a long school break, theson will refuse to go back to school

He’s 5yrears old now and he always puts up quite a fight..

When he wakes up he will start asking “today got school or not?”

If we say yes, he will start crying so we just say “no”…

Then after we change him into his school uniform, he will start his incessant whining of “don’t wanna go school”

Over and over again..

We hear this all the way from the house to the school..

Then come the best part, he will literally cling to thewife like a koala bear while she carries him in to the school and the teachers have to pry him off her..

All the while hes still crying and screaming

Its quite funny when you’re looking at this from the inside of the car..

Not so funny when you’re the parent the child is clinging on and pulling your shirt on..

By the way, this can go on for a whole week…(or more….)

Really…

back to work..

Finally back to work..

My whole body aches..

So much work to catch up on

but am sort of glad to be back in the office…

jeez… sick isn’t it… that I’m glad to be back at work…

maybe I miss the monotony of day to day work…

or the constant freezing climate in the office

the soft whine of the aircon…

the crappy food..

:-)
